Super Supermarket in Korea
Super Supermarkets are great for finding discounted prices and a vast selection of goods.
But there are concerns that major retailers damage small vendors. Traditional markets and local stores are struggling to keep afloat. They can’t keep up with the manpower and market power of large companies. Lawmakers have tightened regulation to prevent small shops from being swallowed by big conglomerates. But people argue that they haven’t done enough. Some consumers have tried to show support by buying only at local stores and holding boycotts. But many still prefer large chains because they are cheaper, more convenient, and provide the products consumers prefer.
