You may think that people get food poisoning only in summer. However, food poisoning can occur at any time of the year. The biggest culprit is the notorious norovirus. The norovirus also called the stomach flu, is very infectious but extremely hard to get rid of. It cause vomiting, severe diarrhea and stomach cramps. The norovirus is highly contagious and hard to kill. It takes less than 20 virus particles to sicken a person. Since there is no real treatment for this except for waiting it out, prevention is the only protection. Good old had washing with soap and water is an effective way to reduce the chance of getting the norovirus
